During the summer, residents can cool off at one of the two community pools, Demore, Dinda, Bittner Jr. Memorial Outdoor Pool (36 Wilcox Court, East Berlin) and Percival Pool (20 Highland Avenue, Berlin).

School District of Berlin, Connecticut

 

Students in Berlin are served by the Berlin Public School District. There are three elementary schools, including Griswold Elementary (133 Heather Lane, Kensington), Hubbard Elementary (139 Grove Street, East Berlin), and Willard Elementary (1088 Norton Road, Berlin). These schools serve students in grades K through 5. Students in grades 6 through 8 attend McGee Middle School (899 Norton Road, Berlin).  There is one high school for Berlin students in grades 9 through 12, which is Berlin High School (139 Patterson Way). There are also 2 private schools located within Berlin. Mooreland Hill School (166 Lincoln Street, Kensington) is a coeducational, independent day school for students in grades kindergarten through 9th. St. Paul Catholic School (461 Alling Street, Kensington) serves local students in preschool through 8th grade.

There are also numerous world class medical facilities located in the nearby Hartford metropolitan area.

 

Conveniently located between Interstates 84 and 91, the city of Berlin provides easy commuting options for its residents. Whether residents are traveling to downtown Hartford, located less than 16 miles away, or elsewhere throughout Connecticut, the transportation network in the area is excellent. There is an Amtrak Station located within Berlin for the convenience of residents. For those looking to travel beyond the state for business or pleasure, Bradley International Airport is a 30 minute drive away.
